Diving trip to Jeddah - May 2001

Driving down from Riyadh plateau.

Still driving down.

Me driving.

See the walls.

Hessu's driving in front of me.

First camel I see in KSA.

More camels.

Desert all around us.

More desert.

The first granite-like stone i've seen in KSA.

A lamb on a gas station. The driver did not want me to include the lisence plate in the picture.

Water, snow and stones raining on the mountains near the city of Taif.

Still raining. The stones falling from mountain cut the tires.
Several cars were changing tires on the road side.

The conditions are dangerous.

Would you cut your hair here? This is Jeddah.

We are heading back to Riyadh. No pictures were taken on the beach
as cameras were not allowed there.
See the road signs. Non-believers must drive around Mekkah.

Driving on the non-muslim road. Nice and empty.

There's sand everywhere. Were driving about 150km/h.

Coming closer to the mountains.

We stopped at the last gas station before the mountains.
Taif is on top of the mountain.

First picture of the members of the caravan.
From left to right, Dagge, Hessu, Ville and Per.

The gas station.

Monkeys on top of the mountain.
Unfortunately the pictures are not sharp.

This is the road up.

More blurry monkeys.
